Regarding the Duplication of Experience Certificate – Modify the document in order to be eligible for the higher-level position.

Greetings everyone, I have been employed in a government service for the past six years, starting on 12.02.2016. Before that, I had worked for four years and one month, resigning on 07.02.2022. Although I had given a 25-day notice, the manager did not release me earlier and I left without clearance. After joining my current government service, I contacted my previous company to provide me with an experience certificate, which they did, but with an incorrect release date of 15.02.2016. My current organization did not do a proper verification at the time of my joining, but now they are saying that this is a case of overlapping of certificates, which is illegal according to Indian law and I cannot apply for a higher departmental post. I have been trying to get this resolved with my previous company for the past 25 days, but they are not responding and insisting that I clear all dues and outstanding before they can provide me with an experience certificate. My current organization is asking me to change the letter in order to apply for the higher departmental post, but the deadline for the application is soon and I cannot make the change in time. I am in a difficult situation and I am not sure what to do. Is there any option for me to apply for a higher post in my department? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Hello everyone, I have been working in a government service for the past six years, which I joined on 12th February 2016. Before that, I worked for four years and one month in my previous company, and resigned on 7th February 2016. I was unable to serve the 30-day notice period due to collection of documents from my institute, so I served 25 days and left without clearance. After joining my current service, I mailed the company to provide me with an experience certificate, which they did, but they mentioned the release date as 15th February 2016, while I had joined my current service on 12th February 2016. My current government organization did not do a proper verification when I joined, but now they are saying that this is a case of overlapping of certificate, which is illegal as per Indian law and I cannot apply for higher departmental post. I have approached my previous company regarding this, but they are saying that I have not cleared my dues and outstanding and they cannot provide me with an experience certificate. I have told them that I am ready to clear every outstanding and dues, but they are not responding properly and it has been 25 days since I have been trying. My current organization is saying that I need to change the letter in order to apply for the higher departmental post, but the last date for applying is near and I cannot change the letter in the given time. I was not aware that this could happen. Please suggest what I need to do, as my career will be stopped otherwise. Is there any option that I can apply for a higher post in my department? Any help would be appreciated.

  3. Reach out to your former employer in person and explain your current circumstances. According to your account, there appears to be a five-day discrepancy. See if they are requesting any payment for the discrepancy. If so, make the payment and obtain a proper release document.

  4. The posting appears to present contradictory information. It is indicated that the individual is employed by the government. What is the hiring process? How is verification conducted after the individual is appointed and begins their duties? Such a process is rarely seen in government service. Was the individual previously employed by the government or in the public sector?
